Importance Of International Financial Management Finance Essay

Importance Of external Financial solicitude Finance EssayThe rapid globalization, economic crises and continuously changing line of reasoning environment together to make posit monetary focussing challenges more critical than ever. And the same forces make successful financial controls actually important because planetary financial oversight (IFM) ope enumerates, with the decisions financial in nature taken, in the era of transnationalist strain. The development in international trade is apparent in the regularity of extremely inflated volume of international trade. The history of international trade can be traced back to World War II. When after the war age immediately, the common type of contracts on the Trade and Tariffs were established in order to increase trade. This arrangement eliminates the trade restrictions extensively over the old age and as a consequence multinational trade grew largely. Moreover, the traders financial contribution in respect of exports and imports surged widely across the countries. Since then this situation persist and increase over the years that compel companies of all types and sizes to think how to utilize resources when dealing in international commercializes. This expansion gives rise to significant innovation in the position of market stability. As a result, today major financial decisions entail cross-border complications. Preferences in respect of raising capital, centering of chance, investment decisions, mergers, restructuring, and all other features of financial strategy by and large involve international complexities and these complications increase the need of international financial management. When financial managers take these decisions they must examine nones transmute rates, risk factors of precise country, appraise rules differences and deviation in legal systems. In short, the finance managers of multinational corporations need appropriate management of international flow of funds f or which the international financial management came to be very important and this has been discussed in detail below.ObjectivesThe purpose of this research paper is to discuss the importance of international financial management to know that the intention that financial management is playing in a modern international business environment.Importance of International Financial ManagementInternational financial management (IMF) significance cannot be exaggerated. It is, however, the core factor to successful business operations. In the absence of finance in local even in international market, no entity can achieve its full strengths for success and growth. We all know that money is a worldwide lubricant that keeps the local and multinational enterprise dynamic in developing product, keeping machines and men in working, motivating management to create values and progress. As I have discussed above that globalization open the market for major corporations to business into international markets, but it also brings corporations to a variety of risks that they can face while operating in international era and in this regard international financial management is the only solution to mitigate these risks and expose corporations to the whole world to operate in. Below is the details of risk that multinational companies face and the role international financial management play to control these risk that increase the importance of international financial management.Currency Exchange endangerment and International Financial ManagementOperating business in international markets may result in a remote currency exchange risk that is known as expo incontestable of transaction. Currency exchange risk arises when an entity has receivables or payables major portion in impertinent currency (FC). The risk persists in the variation of the foreign currency exchange rate. For instance, if the foreign currency increases in value before paying liability, the business has to pay ext ra amount to purchase the foreign currency required to clear this liability. As a consequence, the business will face a loss of foreign exchange. And when the currency value decreases the business will have foreign currency gain. On the other hand net assets will have the reverse relationships that are denominated in a foreign currency. In managing the risk of currency exchange, IFM approaches have gained prominence in recent years. IFM provides a variety of hedging proficiencys to control foreign currency transaction risks.Pricing. The basic technique offers by international financial management to manage risk or to control billing currency, is called pricing. Exchange risk currency can be controlled if the businesses account statement their clients in the companys reporting currency or functional currency. For instance, a business can settle a price of receivable in the currency in which they are reporting and thus transfer the risk of exchange to their customer.Settlement. This technique is used where the business cannot price their customer in reporting currency, it can practice session the settlement technique to eliminate FC exchange risk. This technique needs that management continuously offer early settlement discounts for receivables or payables dealt in a foreign currency. In short, this technique of IFM pushes a business to renounce the advantage of the money time value with the intention to evade the risks of foreign currency exchange variations. anterior Contracts. The business should use the other techniques to control the cash flows if it doesnt want to make early settlement or cannot price in reporting currency. Almost for certain in this situation the renowned hedging methods is selling and buying forward contracts in foreign currency. These are agreements amidst parties to sell or buy foreign currency in future time at pre-decided fixed exchange rate. It reduces the companys exposures to variation in exchange rates, whatever the rate in f uture is, the legal proceeding occur at fixed rate. This transaction involves the cost of currency exchange and the cost of purchasing a forward contract.Leading and logging. IFM also provides additional technique to mitigate the risks for centralized and large business, called leading and logging. This technique requires leading (prepaying) due amount when the currency of payer is decreasing against the payment currency and lagging (covering) those payments if the currency of payer is increasing. From business perspectives, the international financial manager can ask for leading and lagging technique so as to take benefit of the rehabilitative consequences of exchange rate variation. Moreover, leading and lagging strategies may be exercised to move funds to cash-poor from cash-rich partners, thus enhancing liquidity in short-term.Working Capital Management and International Financial ManagementInternational financial management plays very important role in working capital managem ent. Working capital management promoter taking decisions relating to short-term liquidity, and capital support. These decisions comprises on managing the rapport between short-term asset and short liabilities of the hard. In this regard international financial management plays very important role in maximizing the worth of the firm by spending in such projects which produce a positive net present value (NPV) by discounting with appropriate discount rate. These investments, as a result, have complexities in relation to cost of capital pf cash flow. The purpose of IFM is to make sure that the business is capable of operating, and that it has positive flow of cash to support debt in long-term, and to assure both upcoming operational expenses and short-term debt. In this way the firm value is calculated in case the return on capital investment surpass the capital cost.Financing DecisionInternational Financial Management also guides companies in taking financing decions. And accompl ishing the business financial objectives IFM need that any corporate investment be financed properly. As discussed above since both un-stable rate and cash flows will be influenced, the mix of the financing can influence the valuation. In this way financial manager must highlight the capital structures and optimum mix of financing that should result in maximum value. The sources to generate finance generally involve the combination of debt and equity financing. If a business decides to finance through and through debt, it will increase the liability that must be paid, therefore involving cash flow complications independent of the project target of success. The second option is equity financing. law financing is, however, less risky in relation to cash flow payment promises, but results in a reduction of control, ownership and earnings. The equity financing cost is also more than the cost incurred in debt financing, and in this way equity financing method may result in an appreciate d bank vault rate that may compensate any reduction in risk of cash flow. International financial management helps management to keep balance between both options to avoid the risk of cost burden.IFM Co-ordinates Various Functional ActivitiesInternational financial management offers comprehensive harmonization between varieties of functional areas such as production, marketing, etc. to accomplish the goals of organizations. If financial management is imperfect in multinational companies, the powerfulness of other business units can be maintained. For instance, it is very essential for the finance department to make available required finance for the raw material procurement and for other expense for the successful running of business. If financial department does not work properly and fails to meet obligations, the sale and production units will suffer and as a result profit and income will undergo. In short, proper financial management occupies a significant place in any business concern.Determinant of Business SuccessInternational financial management is necessary for the business success. It has been identified that the financial manger plays a very imperative role in the business success by suggesting the higher level management the effective solutions of a range of financial problems as professional. They provide considerable figures and facts in relation to financial position and company various functions performance in specific period before the higher management in such means that make it easier for the higher management to assess the companys progress to adjust policies and the principles of the company properly. The international financial managers help the higher management in the process of decision making by recommending the best possible solutions out of the number of alternatives options available. Hence, international financial management assists the management at various stages in taking national and international financial decisions.IFM as Measure of PerformanceInternational financial management helps to measure the performance of business through its financial results by applying the techniques of ratio analysis. These analyses provide the position that where the firm is going over the years. Such financial decisions that appreciate risks become cause to decrease the worth of the firm and on the other the hand, such international financial decisions that boost the profitability enhance the firm value. favorableness and risk are two necessary part of any business that can be managed effectively through financial management.ConclusionThe challenges that management is veneering today is the effective and efficient working such that is internationally oriented. The major difficulties that a business faces in international markets are, fluctuation in currency exchange rate, investing decisions, financing decision, coordination of different business unit in different geographic places, etc. These problems can be managed through proper adaptation of international financial management methodologies. The effectiveness of these methodologies based on managements understanding to the foreign markets and the requirements of its subsidiaries. In short, managing business accounts and finance is crucial to the success of every multinational business because the increase in complication and importance of financial management in international business environment poses challenges for management in international corporations.

The Factors That Influence Taste Cultural Studies Essay

The Factors That Influence Taste Cultural Studies EssayWhat is taste. Taste is cultural phenomenon that is based on the choice in cultural method and reference. It is an ideology and non just purely aesthetic, even cultural social and political processes can create it. Taste andconsumption can be connectedtogether because the choices of consumers in the market are directly affected by the taste for certain types of products or vestments. The relationship between taste and consumption is however more mixed than a direct chain of events in which taste creates demand that, thus creates supply. Taste has been studied in many scientific handle, especially within the fields of psychology, economics and sociology. Gijs Bakker said that taste is an individual choice, which has nothing to do with good or bad taste. So what are the influences of taste? To explain such influences, I shall use high mien as the backb champion for discussion. What is haute c let onure? In French, Haute coutur e means High demeanor. Haute means High or elegant and couture means dress do. But the boundary haute couture not only means high dressmaking or elegant dressmaking, the term Haute Couture represents and consists of exclusive business of designing, making, and selling custom handmade womens clothing (David Johnson, infoplease.com). Haute Couture is the top of the dash market because the prestige commands the highest prices. Designers will use the expensive materials like Toile and definitely pay attention to the details to make high-quality dresses for their consumers. It is a time-consuming work because the dresses are usually hand-stitched. High fashion is always a pioneer on their design process and idea in the fashion industry. Nowadays, the examples of famous couture houses that are considered as high fashion are Valentino, Lacroix, Chanel, Balmain, Dior, Givenchy, Balenciaga, Lanvin and Yves Saint Laurent. The price of a simple blouse could cost from about 10,000 to 40,000. Sometimes the price would even get higher For example, a Chanel suit that was sold in the year 2002 had cost 20,000 also an evening frock cost 50,000 in the mid 2004. Due to the craftsmanship, services, originality of the design and the finest quality of superb materials, it is very hard to accept the price by those people who cant afford it(Pauline Weston Thomas, fashion-era.com). Nowadays there are only around 2,000 women are buys couture clothing in the world, 60 percent of them are Americans, and only 200 of them are regular customers. Designers will always loan clothes to celebrities or well cognize people for publicity. afterwards World War II, it was the golden age of high fashion, there were around 15,000 women wearing couture. (David Johnson, infoplease.com). Although it was the golden age of high fashion, but notwithstanding the market was very small so that the designers had to be forced to use their prestige to help sell other products, such as cosmetics, perfume, an d their ready-to-wear lines (David Johnson, infoplease.com). In this essay, I will argue that major economic and social changes have been important factors that influenced the taste in high fashion.World War II was one of the factors that had the capaciousest influence on haute couture in the forties. The war had brought many restrictions on it. During the war, the need for parachutes and other materials had caused the low supply in nylon fabric. Not only that, the Nazi forces also occupied the primary couture design center that is Paris during that time. This occupation had caused the couture houses to be unable to do business therefore many people were flavor for new designers at other places instead of Paris. By 1947, the couture houses in Paris were still continuously dominating the high fashion industry after it had reopened. After the war, designers started using new fabrics. Women were encouraged to become homemakers after the war. They were moving out of the workplace, a nd the Western countries were also encouraged the feminine and ornate fashion. (www.ladyjojosboutique.wordpress.com) Dior stated that War had passed out of sight, and there were no other wars on the horizon. What did the weight of my sumptuous materials, my heavy velvets and brocades matter? When hearts were light, mere fabrics could not weigh the body down. (Christian Dior, 1947) The short skirts and full-blooded shoulders (Fig. 1) were replaced by the Christian Diors New advert (Fig. 2). It included spaning longer skirts, fitter stem and rounded shoulders. I wanted my dresses to be constructed, melded upon the curves of the feminine body, whose sweep they would stylize, stated by Christian Dior in his autobiography.Utility suithttphttps://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicAs6IWjrnQc_0IoDvTg4qW-L-iGrif-THUVPwJO0YCqJQa-YuVPhZiXIWqtpdk9KE9CjmmhfsGnyKAOAanojyAJFFksuCdKbBFuuRLZWG_yLjhA_AQlj8kYl-H8H7mgNxeDZncVUoxNc/s320/fashion_1940s.jpgFig. 1 The fashion during World War IIhttp//trixiefantastic.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/theoldnewlook.jpg?w=600h=249Fig. 2 The New formulation at once the New Look had appeared, the designs of Dior were veryinfluential in the decade which refers to the silhouette of broad hips, small waists, and breasts pushed up and out rounded shoulders (Fig. 3) of the 50s style.Big day for fashion designersChristian Dior (Jan. 21,1905 1957), was an influential French fashion designer, who despite his short life did more than anyone to revive fashion after WW II with his modern New LookPhoto Suzy Parker in Christian Dior, 1952 http//adrianasassoon.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/christian-dior1.jpg?w=720Fig. 3 The style of Dior of the 50sThe emergence of hipsters culture in 1960s also influenced the design of high fashion. As cultural anthropologist and writer Margaret Mead said, never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world, indeed its the only thing that ever has. (Margaret Mead, 1964) The styles and cuts of the fabric of their clothing reflected their thoughts even the fabrics were congenital fibres like hemp and cotton. The Hippies used their clothes to express their individualism. The spirit of youthful exuberance inspired forward-thinking high fashion designer. They began designing mini-skirts and pantsuits because they saw the originative and financial potentials in the youth market. For example, the Safari jacket of Yves Saint Laurent (Fig. 5) from his Rive Gauche boutiq ue.http//www.stylebizportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/ysl-1.jpgFig. 5 Yves Saint Laurent The Safari jacket 1967During the 1980s there were great economic growth and prosperity. It was a period of wealth, excess and desire. Many women had entered the workforce and some have been moved to higher positions. The office clothings that women usually wore had made them smell out uncomfortable, impractical and insufficient due to being in the business industry. This causes mens styles of clothing to become very popular among women.Women value unique products and brands that they can use to set apart their individuality. Females actively seek new styles and fashion trends to a larger extent than men. Women are more sensitive to clothing needs and possess a great clothing awareness than men. (Adjei, Griffith Noble, 2006, p.177)The large shoulder pads and tailored suit pants were created stronger silhouette of women in their new success. One of the examples is Giorgio Armanis Power Su it (Fig. 6). As fashion editor forVogue,Harpers BazaarandThe New York Times Magazine Carrie Donovan said that, Giorgio Armani was the first to float the idea. When the Milanese maestro of the tailored suit decided to soften his comminuted shapes a few seasons ago, he also began paying special attention to the blouses that accompanied them. Adding details like delicate collars or a bit of draping, and making the blouses from semi sheer silky fabrics, he started a trend that has bloomed into an American fashion statement. (http//garmentozine.com/tag/giorgio-armani/) Armanis suits were applauded by executive women in the 1980s as a method of casually asserting their status and talent, because of their high quality materials, beautiful tailoring, and comfortableness. Shoulder pads increased the sizes of shoulders. Besides that, they also wore the extend pants and tight skirts that waist and hips were trimmed in. These can help them to conceal their femininity and thus having the abilit y to defeat men in the business world. The term gender can be further developed with the terms gender individuality and gender role attitudes. However, to simply measure sex cannot be a guarantee of capturing gender identity or gender role attitudes. Gender identity can be explained as to which degree a man or a woman identifies with manly and feminine personality traits. Gender role attitudes refer to differences regarding the responsibilities, roles, and rights of men and women. So, the eco-friendly concept has been used in high fashion to improve the health of the environment. In the mid-late 2000s, recycled vintage clothing styles from 1940s to 1980s and also ethnical clot hing such as fake furs were predominant in this decade. The fashion industry has the biggest support on the eco-friendly fashions. Designers started using the original fabrics such as wool, organic cotton, soy silk and bamboo. (http//stylechicago.com) Linda Loudermilk was the pioneer of the green fashion movement. She merges the skills of high fashion and environment awareness with the materials made from sasawashi, bamboo, sea cell and soybeans. Linda Loudermilk urged that Look for three-dimensional designs and fabric embellishments, unusual insets fashioned from vintage laces and trims transform frocks from classic to collectable. Venture beyond the plain and simple to luxury-eco artistic designs that usher in a new era of environmentalism fresh from an artists palette of sophisticated styles. (Michael Lackman, 2005) Her fall 2007 collection Too Hot to Handle (Fig. 7) was a corn fibre volume application with wood pulp leggings on the left and Japanese rice paper ice blue-falling floor length train coat on the right. It was inspired by icebergs, the rock stars of nature. Nature is the inspiration for Loudermilk. Her adroit design turns the funk into stylish punk and it all goes back to the nature. Her official websites claimed that We aim to give eco glamour legs, a fabulous look and a slammings attitude that stops traffic and shouts the message eco can be edgy, loud, fun, playful, feminine (or not) and hyper-cool. Major social and economic changes are important factors that influenced the design concepts and taste in high fashion. One of the beaver ways for designers to predict trends of high fashion is perhaps to understand the key events of a decade. Fashion reflects society. Fashion is always of the time in which you live. quoted by coco pa lm Chanel. Some events will change the style of high fashion, but some will impact on the usage of materials in design. Similar to a element of artwork, the designs of high fashion are the artistic expressions of designers. It represents the social symbol through its cultural connotations. I believe that high fashion will always be the pioneer in the fashion industry.(2115 words)

Roles in ESL Education :: essays research papers

Article ReviewDiscourse and Real-Life Roles in the ESL ClassroomSuggestions have been made (DiPietro, as cited in DiPietro J. R., 1981) as to how the ESL/EFL instructor can provide diverse learner personalities with strategically oriented material. Students get the chance to practice discourses in classroom settings but not al shipway in the same way that the learners leave behind use in real-life interactions. This article proposes a categorization for unlike graphic symbols of English learners in the classroom. The author established three types of roles social, emotive, and maturational. He believes that through a multidimensional model of dialogue, some exercises can be developed and implemented in the classroom to lead these second language learners to role play in simulated natural setting while acquiring knowledge of the grammatical structure of English. The author points out three main shipway to incorporate role-playing in the classroom social, emotive, and maturational. What he means by this is that as English learners children must also learn the many different roles they will pay back across once they are mainstreamed. A social role for example would be that of vendor/customer, employer/employee, or taxi driver/customer, just to note a few. An example of an emotive role would be that of a friend or rival, a role that could potentially be sensitive or touchy. Finally, maturational would define those roles that we learn as we grow up or mature. Some examples of maturational roles are mother/daughter, adult/adult, or child/child. The authors main point is that We teachers should provide our students with enough English (a) to recognize the role-intentions of others, and (b) either to complement those roles or to counter them with personally-desired geniuss There are many possible ways to incorporate these role-playing ideas into the classroom. One idea that came to mind would be to do what I call Script Mix Up. The idea is to write up a type of script in social, emotive, or maturational style. Then mix what the characters are saying around on a sheet of paper that will be passed out to students. Have them come up to the board and write these in the correct order. This activity not only makes them have to interact with one another to come up with the right choice, but it will make students have to think about what is the right order of conversation in different situations. Another possible activity that the author states is interactional games.

An Analysis of the Epic Poem, Beowulf - Social Codes in Beowulf Essay e

Social Codes in Beowulf In reading Beowulf, one cannot help noticing the abundance of references to weapons and fit throughout the text. These passages involve the choice to use or refrain from using arms, the practice of disarm oneself upon entering anothers home, and the idea of a mans worth being measured by his weapons. Essay --

The United States genteel rights movement was a constant battle for the rights and freedom of African Americans. Martin Luther king Jr., the leader of the civil right movement, was hosting a non-violent protest in Birmingham city. However, the protest did not go as planned and King was arrested for agitating the public. Many fellow white clergymen were elicit and upset over the Ungodly act. As a result, the Clergymen wrote a statement that claimed Martin Luther King Jr. to be an extremist. Martin Luther King Jr. responds to the clergymens statement turn residing in Birmingham jail by writing a letter using the ethical, emotional, and logical appeals to defend his actions.Martin Luther King Jr. uses the emotional appeal closely a great deal than any other appeal and using it to his advantage, he makes it extremely effective in persuading the reader. He uses emotional appeal in many ways through erupt his letter from Birmingham Jail. In one of the ways, he uses strong words as one of the most effective ways to relate to the reader and make them savour connected to him. He mentions in his letter that When you have seen vicious mobs lynch your mothers and fathers at will and drown your sisters and brothers at whim when you have seen hate-filled policemen curse, kick and fifty-fifty kill your black brothers and sisters. Words such as vicious lynch, drown, hate-filled, curse, kick, and kill are all strong words that persuade a negative skeleton in the readers mind. Such examples he uses to define the evil acts of segregation appeals to the reader as unjust and unfair. King uses most of his emotional appeals from midway through the letter and keeps using it until the end. King relates himself to the audience, the clergymen, and shows the similarities ... ...my own hometown, like Paul, I must constantly respond to the Macedonian call for aid to show how they both were compelled to carry out a message one being the gospel of Jesus Christ and the latter being hu man equality (p.61). By comparing himself to historical figures he makes numbers of ethical appeals and he builds up the authors character. His use of great leaders can have a great influence in the reader and have an effect on the emotions of the reader. Martin Luther King Jr. makes excellent use of all three of Aristotles appeals to respond to the clergymens accusations. However, he took most advantage of the emotional appeal in order to move the reader and to be able to capture the attention of his audience. Dr. King was one of the greatest speakers in history. He was able to move millions of people with his powerful speeches. Once again, he is successful.
